At 6’2, 193lbs Carrabino will bring both size and experience to Northeasterns blue line. “Billy worked so hard this past offseason getting himself ready for an opportunity like this. He’s had his share of adversity injury wise and I think it made him that much more prepared to get to the Division I level and battle”, head coach Mike Anderson. Carrabino is described as a physical defender who is a strong skater and possesses a heavy shot from the point. “We’re very excited for Billy and his opportunity to get into Northeastern and compete. He’s put so much work into it since he’s been with us and we’re all excited to see what he can accomplish at the next level”, adds Anderson.
Carrabino will look to add to a strong lineage of Northeastern recruits with ties to the Junior Bruins program. 2015-16 B’s captain John Picking will be entering his sophomore season at NU. Burlington, MA native and NU recruit Robby Griffin will play for the B’s NCDC team this season. Defenseman AJ Villella committed last year to the Huskies out of the Bruins 18U program. Carrabinos joins former Junior Bruins Michael Kim (Boston College), Corey Moriarty (UVM) and Josh Couturier (UMASS) as ex-teammates on the Bruins blueline now enjoying success in Hockey East.
The Junior Bruins congratulate Billy and his family on their commitment to Northeastern. Go Bruins.
